David L. Foutch, O.D.
Dr. David Foutch began his practice of Optometry in 1987 following his graduation from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. A native of DeKalb County he attended DeKalb County High School as well as Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville.
Dr. Foutch began practice at the multidisciplinary DeKalb Specialty Clinic before establishing his independent practice in 1991. In 2006 Foutch Eye Care moved to its current location.
Dr. Foutch is active in the community having served in various roles with the Alexandria Lions Club, DeKalb County Little League, The Rotary Club of DeKalb County, as well as serving as chairman of the local chapter of the United Way. Dr. Foutch recently completed a term as a board member of the Smithville/DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce. He was elected to two terms as a member of the DeKalb Board of Commissioners from the 5th and 2nd Districts.
Professionally, Dr. Foutch is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Southern Council of Optometry, the Tennessee Optometric Association, and the Upper Cumberland Optometric Society. He has served in leadership rols as trustee and officer to the TOA and UCOS.
Dr. Foutch and his wife, Kim, have two sons, Jordan and Hunter. They also have a granddaughter, Mia Grace. He is active in his church and teaching an adult Sunday School Class. He enjoys sports and outdoors.
Timothy Hunter Foutch, O.D.
Dr. Timothy Hunter Foutch was born and raised in De Kalb County, TN. After graduating from The Webb School of Bell Buckle, TN in 2010, he received his B.S. degree in General Sciences from Middle Tennessee State University in 2013. He then went on to Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN where he received his Doctorate in Ocular Disease at SouthEast Eye Specialists in Chattanooga, TN.
Professionally, Dr. Foutch is a member of the American Optometric Society and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians (TAOP). Since his time in college, Dr. Foutch has been an active volunteer with TAOP’s Opening Eyes event held yearly at the Special Olympics in Nashville, Tn. In 2019, Dr. Foutch received the “Young OD of the Year” award from TAOP in part due to his work with these organizations.
Outside of optometry, Dr. Foutch loves spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys traveling as much as possible, and he likes to watch and play many sports, especially basketball and golf.
Renee’, the first smiling face you see as you walk through the door, has been with Foutch Eye Care since 2012. She is our benefits and eligibility coordinator. Renee has over 35 years of management experience. She also specializes in insurance benefits and accounting.
She is from the Smith County area and enjoys dancing and being outdoors.
Elicia, our ophthalmic technician, has been with Foutch Eye Care since 2015. She handles general patient workup and support. Elicia assists Dr. Foutch in inpatient care by obtaining patient history and performing pre-testing. She also enjoys helping patients with their contact lens needs.
Elicia and her husband, Kenneth, live in Smithville, TN with their daughter Ensley.
Holly, the newest member of Foutch Eye Care, is our dispensing optician who designs, fits, and dispenses corrective lenses to give you your best vision. Holly’s knowledge of lens options including Anti-Reflective coatings, UV protection, and transition wear will be sure to get you exactly what you need at Foutch Eye Care.
Holly and her husband, Brandon have two spunky teenage boys. They reside in Smithville, TN.
